After another successful year, which was the Geelong Chamber of Commerce first year organizing the awards, the awards were handed out on Wednesday 17 July at the Pier.
The outright winner this year was Dow Chemicals (formerly Rohm & Haas) which is located at Point Henry and provides chemicals for painting products etc. Dow won a category award several years ago (ie around 15 years ago) and backed with a new management team to take out the outright award on its first go.
Another winner was Release Property Management which won the Small Business award. Congratulation must go to Renee and her team for finally breaking through this year and picking up an award after being so close last year and being a finalist in 3 categories last year.
In relation to the LBW Chartered Accountants sponsored Home Based and Micro Business Award, the winner was for the second year in a row Sara Taylor Photography.
Next year we would like to have a few more clients entering the awards and if you speak to the likes of Southern Star Windows, La Madre, Hunter Cuthill 4×4 and Release Property Management which have all won awards before, they will agree that the process is a worthwhile experience and have helped them look at their business in different light.
