The 2014 GBEA presentation night was held on Thursday 17 July 2014 at The Pier. The Geelong Chamber of Commerce was very happy with the level of entries being the 2nd highest in the history of the GBEA.
This year the night was filled with over 530 business people, entertainment with Imogen Brough and some fire dancers and eaters.
There were 22 awards up for taking with the outright winner of the Business of the year being Boundary Bend Olives. BBO also won the Trades and Service and Manufacturing award as well on the night. For those who don’t know BBO, they own the Cobram Estate and Red Island olive oil brands which basically control the olive oil sales in Australia. So when you are buying Cobram Estate or Red Island you are buying Geelong products. The judges were very impressed with this constant performing business in the GBEA.
Another winner this year was Concept Electrics who won the Best First Year Entry award. Congratulations must go to Chris Doak (owner) and Cara and Scott who did a majority of the presentation to the judges. The judges were very impressed with the growth of the business as well as their Human Resources work they have completed over the past 3 years.
In relation to the LBW Chartered Accountants sponsored award “Commercial Services Large”, the winner was Arthur Reed Photos.
The principals of LBW Chartered Accountants believe these awards are very positive for all businesses and would recommend that entry in the awards is a worthwhile experience. If you would like further information on the 2015 GBEA please contact Kelli at the Geelong Chamber of Commerce.
