The partners and staff would like to wish all our clients a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We hope that the New Year will see the end of the GFC and start back with our economy flourishing again.
Our offices will close at 12.00 noon on Wednesday 23rd December and re-open on Monday 4th January 2010. Please note though some partners and staff are taking extra time off in January.
It does seem a bit strange that in the “digital age” we still consume enormous amounts of paper, most of which gets used once or twice and then tossed or recycled. The greenest paper is no paper at all, so LBW are changing the way we do business, and over the coming months we will be introducing new processes and initiatives that will allow us to take advantage of the “digital age”, and with your help, we can all do our bit to reduce our environmental footprint by using less paper.
Going Digital
Listed below are some of the Green initiatives that we plan to implement in the future.
- A secure “client only” area will be introduced on the LBW Website. This will allow you to upload and download documents and information pertaining to you or your business.
- You will have the option of receiving your ATO documents via secure e-mail transmission, the Website Portal or by collecting a digital copy of the documents directly from our office; all you will need is a USB memory stick.
- EFT refunds will be done via the bank and we will no longer deduct our fee from the refund.
- We are in the process of implementing state of the art digital scanning technology that will allow us to scan and capture information directly off Tax correspondence and BAS’ and store this information directly in our database, updating your records automatically; all other paper correspondence along with your Tax and BAS statements will be stored digitally in our Document Management System; considerably reducing the amount of paper we use within our office.
- At the start of 2010 we are installing a new phone system which will improve the way we communicate with you. You will be able to call any of the partners or staff of LBW direct. If the person you are after is not available, you will have the option of leaving a voicemail message or be transferred to our reception.
Going digital is a big step and putting systems into place takes lots of planning, money and of course time. We are committed to continually improve the way we do business, ultimately for the benefit of our clientele, our staff and the environment. The initiatives outlined above will begin to rollout over the coming months; however we will notify you beforehand to ensure that you are aware of the changes.
